I had to use blogger along with everyone else doing their A Level coursework to post everything we done from research to planning and to our final video and tasks. I used this programme last year for my AS coursework but I never got to familiar with it, so this year I had a lot to learn. I have come from hardly being able to create a post to posting almost daily and being able to use advanced to edit my blog and upload videos.
The screen shot on the left shows the Edit HTML and Compose buttons which are two which show when you go to edit or create a post. The compose box you can type into and place pictures in easily but can not upload videos. I had to be taught how to upload videos from youtube onto my blog and I found that you have to get the code and put it into the HTML box not compose or it wont work. This helped me greatly as I have uploaded quite a few videos to my blog to help my coursework and for research. This is a simple task for me now.
Down the left hand side of my blog you will see I have images of music artists. You of course have to upload these yourself. This wasn't one of the first things I learnt this year but I am glad I did as it has added colour and character to my blog. The screen capture here shows the box of how you get the picture there, you can give it a caption but I chose not to as I only wanted mine to be visual. It gives you different options of whether to link the picture from the internet or to actually choose an image you have saved on your computer. I now have all of the images I used saved onto my desktop as when I used a link I found once it got deleted and disappeared leaving a gap in between images which didn't look professional. Also to make my blog personalised I had to become familiar with the edit my page section. This means you can add gadgets wherever you like, I chose to keep them together to make it look neat and easy to navigate round. You can change the whole look of your blog by moving these dashed boxes around on the template, I like my template as it is now. I done this by adding some more gadgets to my blog and removing some that I didn't use.

To make it easy for people to find there way around your blog and more precise when wanting to find certain things, you add labels to each post you create. I chose to make mine very precise as I wanted you to be able to get around with no trouble so I grouped them into appropriate categories such as 'Digi Pack' and 'Myspace' so it is clear what is in where. This also makes it look more professional when you see your blog from the home page. This is where you tag a page to be under a certain label, this is also how you create a new one.
Below is a screen capture of the template designer, this is where you choose or upload an image to have as your background. This I done very fast although I have changed it more than once since to get the right look and feel for my work. This section does many other things like font for titles, size and colour. It also as I found when playing around that you can change the colour of your labels and your labels when they have been clicked on, I was very pleased I came across this as it make my blog look much nicer and not like I hadn't put effort into some of it. You also adjust the width of your post space here, which I changed as mine was far too thin and made everything look too large.
